The ELECTRONIC PIANO SYNTHESIZER XS (EPS XS) is the worlds first piano synthesizer for the iPhone 5, 4S and 4 and iPod touch 5. and 4. Genration. Based on a 32-bit realtime sound engine the sounds are computed on the fly and no samples are used.
The EPS XS gives you possibilities you don´t have with any other Piano, EPiano or Synthesizer on the iPhone or iPod touch. You can adjust the sound while you play on the keyboard and hear the changes immediately. That is what you need to tweak your own sounds. The EPS XS is not only for EPiano sounds, you can also make sounds like bass, brass, bells, chimes, toms, vibraphone, synth pads...

Good start
Let me be clear, the app is fantastic sounding on my iPad 2. I really do like it, But on my iPhone 4 it lags significantly, to an unusable level basically (running solo obviously). The description says the app has visual lag, that is an understatement to say the least. I cannot play notes in rapid succession eg. 170bpms 16th notes will not play in real time, Im getting a severe lag. Audio copy works fine, even though the app is not capable of handling my performances on my iPhone. I know beatmaker 2, music studio and FL studio mobile are mostly the only apps that can sequence virtual midi notes for iPhone, but none of those apps recognized EPS nor did EPS receive midi notes. On my iPad 2 it works fine but it kind of defeats the purpose of having a mobile version of this app (I have not tried virtual midi on my iPad with EPS). I want to give the developer the benefit of the doubt here because Ive been warned but the lag is much worse than the description IMO. I do not own EPS iPad version so I cannot compare the 2 apps. Without any of these issues fixed it really isnt a 5 star app, maybe more like a 3. Im kind of ok with only owning EPS mobile for now running on my iPad 2, but I would guess it is working because it has the A5 chip so I would bet the iPad 1 would probably not run great with EPS XS.
Now it works nicely
I hesitated writing a one-star scolding review for a little while, giving the dev(s) the benefit of the doubt that a fix was coming even though I was never able to actually open the app. But it looked promising, and with this most recent update all problems on my iPhone 4 have ended, and this is actually one of the cooler synths out there. You still have to tap the menu options up top a few times to kick in your selection, but other than that all controls now work with very low latency . The midi learn works a charm with my MK II, and I dig the sound, dig the UI. Nice comeback ( insert Rocky theme...
Sounds good, Audiobus issues
It keeps going back into sleep mode (or whatever its called when Audiobus has the zzzz over the app. On its own the app is pretty cool. But I bought it for the Audiobus support. Until then 3 stars
Not worth the money
I like the app, but I think for 4 dollars it should have more sounds like strings and vocal sounds. If thats not gonna happen, there should at least be a grand piano sound on there. A 4 dollar piano app should come with a grand sound also. I guess its my fault for not knowing much about synthesizers, but there should be a more clear description of the app
